Pods and Pavilion : Boston, MA

This project consists of four highly conditioned 'pods' (~800sqft each) and one semi-enclosed 'pavillion' space (~15,000sqft). The site was located on a triangle lot in the SOWA district of Boston, MA. The project consists programmatically of four animation 'pods', landscape plaza, farmer's market and small theater. The pods are designed to integrate with the landscape element, bringing in spectators from the street and engaging the surrounding context. Each pod specializes in different aspects of animation & videography - screening rooms, learning suites, working critique spaces, and traditional and digital animation spaces. The farmer's market is intended to use the existing abandoned building on the site, with a parking lot underground. A screening theater is located as a pod inside of the market space, intended to engage the people within that space with the work being created in the learning pods.
